This forum seems like a great idea, thanks for this, and also for the tutorials!
How much X-Code/Obj-C experience does everyone have? I learned Obj-C a few years ago, but my X-Code/Cocoa skills are severely lacking.

No Problem!
I have been developing X-Code/Obj-C since the release of the SDK. I am by no means an expert but set up this forum to establish a solid community of iPhone developers with similar goals in mind. I hope we can all learn from eachother and I will share my knowlege (via the blog tutorials) along the way.
Welcome to the forums!

Guys, i'm a real amateur so i will be learning as this thing grows, it really is a fantastic idea to correlate as much 'beginner' info as possible as these first steps are always the most fraught, as i'm sure you know. With a little commitment and a lot of effort I will progress with time. The platform which has become available through the Iphone is too much to miss and the future possibilities are endless. It really is encouraging to have a bunch of more knowledgeable people to learn from!! RESPECT

Hey, Thanks for the Forums! Ill be perusing these diligently. I have had a interest in developing for the iphone since i saw the March 6th: iphone software roadmap. but I just recently set some time to learn some Objective-C 2 (a few months back) and i think its time to move onto somthing else than java. Its going to be great to be here.

nice to see, that there are more minds that want to work on this thing. I hope we all can work together and even the amateurs (like me) will at some point in time be able to give some hints and support.

Yup this is awesome !! I myself am a Java developer working on his first iPhone project (just like the Youtube application). I'm really eager to learn and I think it'll rock in a couple of months !!

Hi Brandon,
I've gone through just about every tutorial you have up on the site so far (Aug 24)… and this is sort of a broken record post from when I first found your site a week or two ago, but I just wanted to send a big ol' boat-load of thanks your way for the GREAT tutorials you've been developing! They have been well thought out, well explained, and so far as I've found, nothing else out there compares.
It seems to me like you are putting in a great deal of time & effort into not only creating the tuts, but then supporting all of us users as we work our way through them. It's awesome of you to put these up for free, but I'd encourage you to but a “donate” type button on your site somewhere. I'll be first in line, as I love what you've got going here, and I want to do what little I can to support you, considering all the work you're putting in to support all of us!
Thanks so much… I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help, as I wrangle my head away from REALbasic style coding into Obj-C/Cocoa-Touch. It's quite a leap.
Cheers,
Jon

Jon,
Wow, thanks man. I really appreciate that. I was considering the whole donate button thing but I didn't want people to feel like they owe me something. After reading your post, I may reconsider. I really enjoy developing for the iPhone and love sharing the knowledge that I gain along the way.
I thank you for being a part of this site and look forward to your contributions in the future.

I second the vote for a donate button. You have helped me greatly in getting started and I would love to show my apprciation with a little cash.
Keep up the good work.
