no apps for apple tv since apple wants people to buy ipads or iphones to run apps. paying 99 bucks to run apps is not good enough for apple and will not happen. remember, they need to sell the ipads and iphones.

I don't know whether Apple is going to make an App Store for the Apple TV, but if they do, what will the apps be like?
I mean, you can't just assume that the owner of an Apple TV also has a multitouch iOS device, that would be a little strange. So the developers need to make Apps for the Apple Remote, or Apple needs to make a multitouch remote for the Apple TV, which would be totally ridiculous. If the developers need to make Apps for the Apple Remote the iTV would be just Boxee, which I think is a good think to do, but it won't be a real game console, unless Apple ships it with some kind'a game controller, but I don't think that is going top happen very soon...

higher resolution?
720p = 1280×720
iPad = 1024x768

Given the 'safe area' due to overscan on TV where you actually want to put important content, it's a pretty close match isn't it?
